Evince, alternative Linux à Adobe Digital Editions
Mis à jour le
Notre avis
Evince is a solid PDF viewer but a poor replacement for Adobe Digital Editions. It handles standard PDFs well with basic annotations, but it lacks EPUB support entirely. More critically, it cannot handle Adobe DRM, meaning you cannot open protected books purchased from libraries or stores. It also lacks library management, device sync, and Adobe ID authentication. If you only need to view unprotected PDFs, Evince works. If you rely on DRM-protected e-books or EPUBs, you need a different tool like Calibre or a specific DRM-removal workflow, not Evince.

Ouvrir vos fichiers Adobe Digital Editions
Evince opens standard, unprotected PDF files without issue. It cannot open EPUB files. It cannot open DRM-protected PDFs (Adobe-protected) directly. You can export your annotations from Evince as a new PDF, but you cannot import Adobe Digital Editions library metadata or DRM-protected content. Any DRM-protected books must be de-protected using other tools before Evince can open them.

Can Evince open EPUB files?
No. Evince does not support the EPUB format. You need a reader like Calibre, Foliate, or Okular for EPUBs.
Can I use Evince with my library-issued e-books?
Only if they are unprotected PDFs. Most library e-books use Adobe DRM, which Evince cannot handle. You would need to remove the DRM first using external tools, which may violate terms of service.
Does Evince sync my reading progress?
No. Evince is a local viewer. It does not sync bookmarks, notes, or progress across devices. You must manage this manually or use a cloud storage solution for the files themselves.
